Mandatory Masking In Condos

For condo corporations in Toronto the opening up to more activities of Stage 3 has meant a tightening of rules in common areas.  Following recommendations made by the medical officer of health and the city solicitor, Toronto City Council passed a temporary bylaw requiring all condos to have a mandatory masking policy for all indoor common areas such as lobbies, elevators and party rooms.  People with medical conditions that prevent the use of face covering and children under 2 years of age are exempt.

Starting August 5, 2020, signs must be posted at all entrances to indoor common areas and anyone doing work in building must be informed and comply with the policy.  The city has pre-made signs available for download at ” MandatoryFaceCoveringBylaw “. It is not clear how long the temporary bylaw will be in place. Keep an eye on this blog for updates
